Empowering Global Privacy Management with Learn LMS + HubSpot
Now Clym’s entire academy experience is powered by HubSpot.
INTRODUCTION An online academy built natively on HubSpot.
Clym is a leading provider of software solutions dedicated to simplifying global data privacy and consent management. Their comprehensive platform ensures compliance with major regulations like GDPR and CCPA, empowering businesses to seamlessly manage consent, data subject requests, and other regulatory obligations. With a mission to build trust between organizations and their users, Clym helps navigate the ever-evolving landscape of digital compliance with confidence across these seven major categories:
- Data privacy: 77 regulations
- Accessibility: 10 regulations
- Age gating: 15 regulations
- Sanctions/regional restrictions: 16 regulations
- Company data: 4 regulations
- Whistleblowing: 35 regulations
- Content takedowns: 3 regulations
As these digital compliance regulations continue to expand worldwide, businesses face growing challenges in maintaining compliance. While Clym’s platform offers the tools to simplify these complexities, the company recognized that their customers needed a deeper understanding of how to fully leverage the software’s capabilities. Without a structured, engaging training program, many customers struggled to adopt advanced features and maximize the value of Clym’s solution.
With a long-term vision of creating a customer-facing academy to enhance knowledge, increase software adoption, and facilitate compliance through effective education, Clym strategically began by rolling out an academy internally. This initial focus on onboarding new hires has allowed them to refine the learning experience, ensure consistency in knowledge transfer, and reduce the burden on internal team members.
CHALLENGE Introduce learning without introducing headaches.
To achieve their goals, Clym needed a robust learning solution that could support both internal onboarding and future customer education. When evaluating alternatives in the marketplace, Clym kept three key objectives in mind:
- Avoid the increased costs of upgrading to Enterprise licenses. It was critical to find a way to deliver comprehensive training without the need for costly upgrades to Enterprise licenses on HubSpot, which many other learning solutions in the marketplace require due to the use of custom objects.
- Simplify tech management. It was important to minimize the complexity of their tech stack by integrating a solution that worked natively with their existing HubSpot setup, rather than introducing separately-managed applications or platforms.
- Centralize data for maximum value. The team needed to ensure all data, from marketing behavior and course engagement to user progress, was consolidated within HubSpot to streamline analytics and optimize customer engagement strategies.
SOLUTION Implement Learn LMS on HubSpot portal.
To meet these objectives, Clym partnered with Instrumental Group to implement the Learn LMS app in their HubSpot environment. Starting with their internal team, they followed a systematic process to structure the academy, develop engaging content, and monitor its effectiveness—laying the groundwork for a broader customer-facing rollout in the future. The key phases included:
-
Setting Up Learn LMS in HubSpot
-
Structuring the Online Academy
-
Developing Engaging Course Content
-
Launching and Monitoring Initial Engagement
-
Leveraging HubSpot for Data and Analytics
Intelligent Academy Structure
Clym maximized the potential of their Learn LMS integration by transforming their online academy into a central resource for onboarding new team members. By implementing intelligent academy design, they ensured that the onboarding experience was streamlined, consistent, and engaging.
New hires are introduced to Clym’s products through the academy, completing interactive courses that cover the essentials of digital website compliance and how Clym’s platform supports data privacy and accessibility and more. The structured content allows team members to become familiar with the product at their own pace, typically completing the standard academy course within a week. This approach ensures that all new employees receive the same foundational knowledge during their first weeks, regardless of their role.
After completing the course, new team members participate in a 30-minute Q&A session to address any remaining questions. This process has significantly reduced the burden on internal team members to individually train new hires while maintaining a high standard of knowledge transfer. By leveraging the academy as an onboarding tool, Clym has created a scalable, efficient process that sets their team up for success from day one.

CONCLUSION Looking Ahead
The early success of the academy as a tool for onboarding has revealed valuable opportunities to tighten up the content creation process, ensuring that the material remains both relevant and impactful. With these insights, the team is already planning a wider release of the academy to their customer base in 2025. This next phase will allow Clym to extend the benefits of their Learn LMS integration beyond their internal team, enhancing customer education and engagement on a broader scale.
